Attorney Participation with BNI

Business Network International accepts members from almost every industry imaginable, but members who are attorneys may have concerns about their state ethics committies' rules on referral marketing. 

The document below outlines all the guidelines for attorney participation in BNI. In summary, attorney members can participate in BNI because:

• Membership in BNI does not REQUIRE referrals.
• Attorneys may make referrals as long as specified transparency rules are met.
• BNI itself does not provide referrals, so dues paid to BNI are not in exchange for referrals.
